This qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment. Duration of course varies dependant on experience and access to learners for assessment.
There are no specific entry requirements. However, learners must be 19+ and have occupational and technical competence in the area(s) that they wish to assess.
This qualification comprises of 2 units (9 credits).
- Understanding the principles and practice of assessment
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
- Observed assessments
- Assessment planning
- Witness observations
This qualification provides progression to the following additional assessing qualifications:
- Active IQ Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.
- Active IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Alternatively, it provides progression to Level 4 qualifications in internal quality assurance for learners who wish to further their knowledge and skills and become internal or lead internal quality assurers.
