The Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Exercise to Music), has been designed to provide learners with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work unsupervised as a fitness instructor teaching exercise to music to healthy adults of all ages. It is ideally suited to individuals who currently work in fitness instructor and wish to expand their skills, individuals seeking a career change who require a recognised qualification, and exercise and fitness enthusiasts aiming to become fitness instructors. In this qualification learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of the theory underpinning exercise to music, including anatomy and physiology, principles of exercise and fitness, how to support clients, and health and safety. It will also develop the skills and techniques to plan and instruct gym-based exercise.
This qualification is recognised as an approved qualification for entry on to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) as a Level 2 Fitness Instructor (Exercise to Music) and as an affiliate member of CIMPSA. Learners who successfully complete this programme will be equipped to work as an exercise to music instructor taking group exercise classes.
